I CAN assure C Clayton (Fracking poses a 'clear and present danger', Letters, August 26) that he certainly doesn’t speak for me nor I suspect thousands more like me. I have never read such a distorted version of the truth and scaremongering.

To read his article you would think that fracking would be carried out in the middle of Parliament Street instead of a remote field miles from anywhere.

The only thing he has got right is his reference to money and that is the money we would all save by the much lower production costs.

For goodness sake, Mr Clayton, get a life and come out of the Victorian world you seem to live in.

Fracking is here to stay and will benefit us all despite the doom and gloom of all you who don’t support progress.
