IT’S a shame that some trainers of racehorses made the going an excuse for beaten fancied horses at York.
York Racecourse is now the best-drained racecourse in England, and the size of the fields at York this past week tells us that there wasn’t much wrong with the well-prepared ground.
For those that don’t already know it, I will tell them, there are four categories of racehorses, “moderate, good, excellent and great”. Great horses gallop on any going, that’s what makes them great.
