A FEW weeks ago BBC Four screened a two-hour show featuring nothing more than a trip down a canal, with no commentary, music or presenter. Sceptics thought it would flop, but the programme doubled the channel's viewing figures that night.

Perhaps we shouldn't be surprised. In this increasingly hectic world all of us hanker for a bit of peace and quiet and now the North York Moors National Park Authority is offering a similar travelogue along the Cleveland Way.

What a great way to prepare for a hike, but also a wonderful opportunity for anyone who can't undertake the walk to enjoy splendid virtual moorland at home.

We can't wait to see the results.
