WE now have self-steering cars, self-braking cars and more airbags than ever, but the one thing a vehicle can't do is protect a driver who is not wearing a seatbelt. Police says Lee Lyons could have survived crashing his sister's' BMW, if he had buckled up. But being three times over the drink drive limit probably meant his mind was elsewhere.
This easily avoided tragedy is being played out every day on our roads and despite many campaigns, some people still think alcohol doesn't impair their driving.
How many more lives must be lost before the penny drops?
