I’D like to firstly thank local residents in Fulford and Heslington for re-electing me as a local councillor, and I am looking forward to working with them over the next four years.
The Press letter of May 25, “Time for action over traffic chaos in lane”, gives me an opportunity to also thank the more than 600 residents who signed my petition calling for parking action in Heslington Lane, which was submitted earlier in May.
One of the first things I did after being re-elected was to ask officers for a progress update and I’m told that the council will seek agreement to advertise the restrictions in June, and if no objections are received, they can be in place later this year.
I know that we need this done as soon as possible and I will keep up the pressure to get the job finished.
Keith Aspden, Liberal Democrat Councillor for Fulford and Heslington, Heath Moor Drive, Fulford, York.
