MANY thanks for the great article in The Press of May 14 looking back at 65 years of Nunthorpe School.
I have very happy memories of my time there between 1979 and 1985 and I was singing along to Jerusalem on that final assembly with a tear in my eye.
No doubt we consoled ourselves afterwards with a pint or two in the Lion And Lamb.
I was particularly interested in the photo of the last four Nunthorpe house captains and I think I might be able to supply the missing names.
From left to right, these are Martin Pepper (good at rugby), Andy Lock (good at cricket), Tim Dean (good at everything) and Mike Dickson (good for a laugh, and still my best mate).
Looking at the photo, I do wonder whether the main selection criteria for house captains was having great hair.
