WE ARE so lucky in this city to be blessed with all these “green lungs” – parks to you and me.

After an absence of a few years, I at last re-visited the splendid Homestead Park. I did not really expect too much colour at this in-between the seasons time, spring gone and summer not really here yet. But how wrong I was.

There was so much to see, fantastic colour everywhere, rhododendrons, blue bells, many, many tulips of all shapes and form still in bloom, some teamed up with pink, blue, white forget-me-not, giant poppies, my first ones this year.

What a show. What a picture.

A pond, a little stream, a large, well-maintained playground and a picnic area, majestic trees with chestnut trees in flower – you name it, they have got it.

Ample parking, toilets and a plant sale area included.

I hope you also will visit this lovely area and enjoy the scene – no doubt constantly changing with the seasons.

Too good to miss. Thank you to the Joseph Rowntree Foundation for all your care.
