ELECTORAL officers wrongly stated the Heworth candidate Terry Smith received 276 votes when the figure should have been 1,176 votes.
When this correction is taken into account it means that overall the Conservatives in York received 6,346 more votes than Labour.
This is not insignificant. More reason than ever to regard the Conservatives, rather than Labour, as the leading political group in the city.
