JULIA Raven asks about events that happened in York many years ago.
I can remember walking to church with my late sister Pamela and seeing the police searching the area behind Rawdon Avenue (an area we referred to as the tip), and believe they eventually found Norma Dale’s body there.
I do not know the facts but believe no one was convicted.
My only memory of Pash Dale was that I attended a fete in the grounds of Tang Hall Hotel about 1951.
For the princely sum of one shilling (5p) he would draw a caricature of you depicting you as a subject of your choice, i.e. footballer, rugby player, jockey etc.
One shilling in those days would also buy four of us a bag of chips from Arthur Nobles fish shop.
