AS THE run up to the election gets closer I for one would just like to hear a simple yes or no to questions being asked to to our politicians.
For example, will we see an improvement in the NHS and targets hit, will there be a vote on Europe, no ifs and buts, will we see income tax rise or fall, will VAT rise or fall, will the pension age rise again?
These questions are just a starting point and I would like to hear answers, and not what previous governments did. I would like to hear exactly how things would be achieved now and in the future. If it means tax increases tell us, if they don’t know tell us, just don’t blame others.
Surely honesty and openness is the best policy. Yes some people would be worse off, but these need to be in the minority. I also think, if over the next five years whoever wins gets it wrong, we may end up like Greece, bankrupt.
