I AM writing to say thank you for being part of our York Sleepout and for helping to make it such a successful event.
It was so lovely of The Press to feature the event in the paper. I am sure that it helped.
The York Sleepout raised £5,483.26 which is absolutely fantastic. This is enough money to cover the expenses needed to provide our Nightstop service in York, North Yorkshire and the East Riding for four months. The project is for vulnerable young people who need a safe place to stay in an emergency.
Nightstop is available for up to two weeks – enough time for us to work with other agencies and ensure they have somewhere safe and permanent to move on to. Around 75 per cent of young people using Nightstop move to permanent accommodation following their stay. You really have made a difference to the young people in our community.
We have a couple of events which you would be more than welcome to support. On July 10 we are holding a charity wine tasting event at the Hilton Hotel, York.
If you are feeling sporty we are holding a ‘Bike and Brunch’ on August 23.
There is information on our website about both events if you want to find out more. Alternatively you could organise your own fundraising event with our support.
