TONY EATON suggests that Clarke Carlisle should show some shame and remorse for his actions (Letters, March 27).

May I politely suggest that Mr Eaton takes the time to look at what happens when a person is clinically depressed.

Mr Carlisle was obviously having difficulty acting responsibly due to his condition and I think this should be remembered.

I am sure he regrets what happened, but it was not of his doing but caused by his ill health. Good luck with your recovery and best wishes for your future, Mr Carlisle. Terrible difficulties are caused by depression.
