THE annual general meeting of the Minsters Rail Campaign was held in the Londsbrough Arms Hotel at Market Weighton on March 28.

Clearly the campaign has run out of steam: they now appear to have little support from their 80 members. Besides the five committee members, only five others turned up.

They have lost track, certainly geographically, as the sites of where the two stations were planned at Pocklington and Stamford Bridge have or are about to be built on.

They also mentioned that, as Graham North of Ryedale suggested, that they should look at the transport corridor as a whole and rail might not be the answer.

Following that, a committee member said a light rail might be the answer so they could run down the road into the centre of Pocklington. I don’t suspect that this will affect the flying pigs.
