ONCE again Ukip make a sweeping statement that cannot be backed up with any logical reasoning to it. A quick easy-to-read point that doesn’t actually make any sense. But in this hurried world, gullible people will not look beneath the bland rhetoric to uncover the truth.

Quitting Europe is not an option for this country, nor for the benefit of Yorkshire and particularly the city of York. The advantages of being a member of the EU outstrip the issues that are within the organisation. These are commonly understood by the majority.

Changes with the EU can only be addressed by being a member from within.

It is crass to try and buy votes by attempting to quickly balance cost savings against EU membership with the promise to spend more elsewhere on areas which cause anxiety (immigration, NHS and policing).

Obviously all the political parties are vying for position at this time. I’m sure what the public wants is a better, non-political, non-partisan, people-based vision that involves as many areas and aspects of the populace that puts Yorkshire first.
