NEW migration figures show net immigration fractionally below 300,000, close to the highest level ever recorded.

Since almost 330,000 people emigrated from the UK during that period, the actual ‘new arrival’ immigrant figure is 624,000 individuals. This equates approximately to three times the population of York. That’s an average of over 1,700 people arriving in the UK each and every day. Where do they all go?

What an embarrassment to a government that promised to “reduce net immigration to tens of thousands, not hundreds of thousands” and what a shocking testament to the preceding Labour government’s “open door” policy.

The claim by our government that immigration has increased primarily because more people are attracted to come to the UK due to our booming economy is simply a distraction..
