I WAS delighted to read details in The Press of February 26 about Sir Ron Cooke’s report, Sustaining The City Beautiful.
However, there is nothing very beautiful in the daily view of emptied large rubbish bins from local shops and bars next to St. Martin’s Church on Coney Street.
The management of these commercial premises should see to it that these bins are safely removed immediately after they are emptied.
These particular bins, 16 big red ones and six giants, were still awaiting removal by 10.15am, well into the time when tourists and shoppers are around.
Not the picture post-card view of York that we want to show.
