THIS year the Middle East Land Forces Association arranged our final visit back to the Canal Zone of Egypt where, along with thousands of other service personnel, we served and lost many of our comrades who are now buried in the War Graves Commission Cemeteries of Fayid, Ismailia, Moascar, Tel-el-Kebir.

I have been arranging these visits since 1993 and we decided that this April (the group is now full and closed) would be our final visit to the above cemeteries to pay our final respects.

We also decided that we would keep in touch and arrange meetings, although we are now in our 70s and 80s.

We decided our first get-together should be for us to see the part of Egypt that we never had the chance to see during our service days.

Therefore we are arranging a reunion on a Nile Cruise ship for one week cruising from Luxor to Aswan and back to Luxor.

If any reader either served in the forces in the Canal Zone during those terrible times or knew someone who had, and would like to join us on this reunion cruise visit they would be welcome.

I have 12 places left – spouses are welcome. We are flying from London Heathrow on November 23 and returning on November 30. If anyone would like full details please contact me at the address below.
