I TOTALLY agree with Mrs J Dawson of Butcher Terrace (Letters, February 18) about cars parking over dropped pavements.
As a wheelchair user, I know how she feels. In some roads parking over dropped kerbs is putting lives at risk, because we then have to use the road and some drivers are impatient. This affects wheelchairs, pushchairs and mobile scooters.
We try and do the right thing but are then prevented from doing so by the bad parking – probably by the same people who complain we are a nuisance when are are forced on to the roads.
A simple solution would be to put double yellow lines where dropped kerbs are and make sure traffic wardens and police enforce the law.
