I NEVER even knew City of York Council had a health and wellbeing board until the day I reached my 65th year and read online that Cllr Lynsay Cunningham was “particularly concerned” about my mortality in an article on falling life expectancy of retired men.
It is comforting to know that the Labour-controlled council, while not always able to efficiently provide basic municipal services, will at least, be striving to ensure my longevity so I can continue writing letters to The Press.
Matthew Laverack, c/o Lord Mayor’s Walk, York.
