IN REPLY to George Smith (Letters, February 11), the blanket 20mph zones across York are unenforceable and unnecessary.
The Labour-led City of York Council has spent more than £600,000 of residents’ money on making all residential areas 20mph following a shambolic consultation. 20mph should only be applied where there is a proven need such as outside schools.
Terry Smith, Conservative candidate for Heworth, York, Fourth Avenue.
