I WANTED to put a few words together to say that I was delighted to witness the arrival of the 12 York City supporters who had cycled to Northampton on Saturday (City cyclists raise cash in supporter’s memory, The Press, February 23).

Although it was a bad day at the office for the team, these 12 lads are a credit to the club, but more importantly a credit to themselves. This was a fantastic effort by all concerned, but I think a special mention should be made for Ian Jones who had the initial idea and followed it through to a brilliant conclusion.

At the time of writing the total had reached £5,998. Well done lads.
