FOLLOWING your article of February 18 about all community centres and social halls in the city having WiFi installed, through City of York Council securing funding from central government to increase WiFi provision across the city, I just wanted to say a big thank you that Bell Farm Social Hall and Tang Hall Community Centre are now connected.
This will enable both centres to increase the services they already provide for local residents, so that people who are not connected can benefit from these free services.
Both centres are working hard to raise money to enable children to use the facilities to do their homework, and also for older residents to be able to do things that many of us take for granted – such as booking theatre tickets, or searching for information.
Cllr Christina Funnell, Heworth ward, Labour, Upper Price Street, York.
