I QUESTION how far removed from reality Pamela Frankland of Dunnington can be (The Press, January 23), when she states that chancellor George Osborne has been brilliant in adversity.

I suggest that maybe she got her words mixed up and intended to say that Osborne had been brilliant at austerity.

Osborne, along with his Tory/Lib Dem compatriots, has managed to make the poor even poorer and the rich even richer.

Evidently 90 per cent of the wealth of the world is now owned by one per cent of the world population.

This is capitalism at its ugliest and it’s about time that capitalism was abolished or became more compassionate.

Some 100 people a day who have been diagnosed with mental health problems are being refused benefit due to the fact that they cannot attend interviews to deem whether or not they are capable for work – therefore by non-attendance they are sanctioned and lose their benefits immediately.

It is thought that many people have committed suicide due to their benefits being stopped (something which the Department of Work and Pensions will not release).

Unless we, as the electorate, chose to stop them by voting them out of office then we are in for much worse.

Does Pamela read the papers, listen to the radio or watch the television to find out the true facts? There are plenty of sources available.
