IN REGARD to the debate about dress code at Joseph Rowntree School and Mr Simpson’s letter last Saturday, I think quite the opposite.
My 14-year-old granddaughter attends Jo Ro and I think all the pupils look smart in their school uniforms.
If the kids wore what they wanted, then the more affluent kids would try to out-do the less fortunate; now that really would make some kids feel like outcasts.
If the standard slipped even further, kids would turn up with these stupid jeans with designer holes in the knees.
Congratulations to head teacher Richard Crane, who is getting Jo Ro back on track. He clearly appreciates that if the kids dress like a rabble, they will perform as such.
