ACCORDING to online magazine Construction Enquirer, a company called ISG has been awarded a contract to build York’s community stadium complex.
The big question is how can contracts be agreed when there is no planning permission? This scheme is significantly different to the outline approval.
All it needs is for the latest application to be called in by the Secretary of State and the project is, at best, much delayed, at worst totally rejected.
The correct way to build is to secure necessary permissions first and then enter into contracts afterwards.
Doing it the other way round is potentially a colossal waste of taxpayers’ money.
