LAST year, local politicians in York were keen to associate themselves with the news that insurance company Hiscox were to open new offices in Hungate, creating jobs for people in the city.
However, the January 19 edition of the Yorkshire Post (predominantly a Leeds newspaper), carried a half-page careers open day recruitment advert for jobs at its new offices in York, informing prospective job candidates to events at venues in Leeds.
Does this imply that Hiscox thinks that no suitable candidates are to be found in York?
