WITH reference to the letter of January 13 from Mrs Janet Smith regarding the wonderful service that is run by the NHS 111 emergency team, I had to ring them on December 16 at 5am.
I had a bad fall, banged my head badly on the bedside cabinet and could not move. My feet had become trapped underneath the radiator.
My husband, John, rang the 111 service. Within minutes they appeared; paramedics and medical staff. I was on a trolley and arrived at hospital by 5.20am, attended to by a very nice young man and staff so quickly.
John, who is 80, was given a cup of tea and looked after; he is disabled and my rock, a lovely person.
By 9am after a lot of tests, we were offered a breakfast, very good. After results had come through it was okay for us to come home, we had a taxi.
How can you say thank you to all those wonderful staff at A&E?
Well done 111 service and A&E York.
John and Barbara Pettitt, Navigation Road, York.
