PEOPLE who generally enjoy Christmas are being driven into bah-humbugs by the stingy post office. Season of goodwill. I should coco.
This week I received a card in my letter box telling me a letter was awaiting for me to collect, ten minutes away at Selby post office, because the sender has sent it in a wrong-sized envelope, resulting in 20p underpaid.
In my humble opinion, it is a diabolical disgraceful liberty of the post office to expect me to travel ten minutes to pay 20p plus a £1 handling charge to retrieve a Christmas card that the sender has made a minute mistake when sending. Season’s greetings to the postmaster general.
Ken Holmes, Cliffe Common, Selby.
