SO the Labour Party has decided that their candidate for the York Central seat next May must be a woman, who will almost certainly be from the local area (The Press, December 12).
I ask just one question: what would have been the reaction, especially from women’s groups, if it had been decided that the candidate must be a man? The equality business has gone so far that it has tipped over the other side.
