IT IS outrageous that £399,000 plus a further £100,000 has been allocated for further improvements to North Yorkshire police cells, the £100,000 to be used later.
“Home Office standards” is a disgrace and waste of taxpayers’ hard-earned money.
A custody suite indeed! Dave Jones remarks that the latter is “perfectly safe and serviceable” – says it all.
The money would be better spent on more police on the beat – less red tape and a receptionist instead of so many buttons to press.
It takes an age to get someone to speak to, it is a ridiculous situation, not just at the police station but at the hospital and many other vital services. Blood pressure and temper soar at the situation.
