YOUR political columnist Chris Moncrieff is yet again showing his political allegiance by stating in The Press (November 12) that Ed Miliband is on a course of self-destruction.

Miliband is not the most charismatic leader of the Labour party has ever had, but at least he puts his point of view across in the House of Commons, as also expressed by your letter writer in the same issue of The Press, Trudie Elliott of Hopgrove Lane North, who expresses the view that whenever questions are asked by Miliband at Prime Ministers Questions he is hardly ever given a real answer.

Indeed, we have the chancellor claiming that he has won a huge victory in Brussels over the alleged 50 per cent reduction in the UK payment to the EU but forgetting to mention that he has taken off the bill the automatic rebate that we would be getting next year.

Then we have David Cameron thumping the table, and going red in the face attempting to discredit the EU regarding this payment, even though he had known that it was due for many months, if not years.

At least Ed Miliband says it as it is, but gets a short-tempered and rude response from the PM.
