FIVE years into the Tories great austerity con and David Cameron pops up Down Under to warn of another global crash.

The G20 leaders, in between badgering Vladimir Putin, pledged but not guaranteed to print out $2 trillion to prop up capitalism, on top of the other trillions already trousered by banks and big corporations responsible for austerity.

Stagnant economies and growing plebiscite unrest due to austerity and poverty in the EU and globally has provoked this latest wheeze from our disconnected leaders.

We could instead replace most European benefits and pensions with a universal basic income that can additionally be offset against employees’ wages, providing business with a massive boost in taxable income and investment.

Young people receiving training and employment in return for their basic income and subsidised rents and mortgages made available to everyone on low incomes.

The G20, no doubt backed by York’s equally disconnected career politicians, will likely replenish the pockets of the wealthy at the expense of the working class with EU politicians fiddling, while social equality burns on the bonfire of neo-liberal ideology.
