I ARRIVED home from work and turned into our street to be greeted by new 20mph signs.

We have numerous significant speed humps down our street which mean careful considerate drivers drive at about 5mph to avoid damaging their cars; therefore driving above 20mph between the humps will never happen.

The inconsiderate drivers who try to launch their cars into orbit off the humps and try to achieve the speed of light between them will carry on, because they have no respect for their own cars.

I often cringe as people crash over the speed hump outside our house, and never mind the thought of children wandering around the estate.

I have to ask: why has the council wasted money on these road signs?
