IT WAS interesting to see the many glum Labour faces at the Westfield by-election as voters of all colours came together to say they wanted rid of Labour.
Many will have sympathy for Louise Corson, who was new to York politics but paid the price for the failings of Labour councillors.
However, in May 2015 it will be interesting to see if Westfield Labour councillor Daffyd Williams, said by some in Labour to be ready to take over from Cllr Alexander, will stay in Westfield and let the voters give their verdict on him.
Or having seen the recent poor result for Labour, will he be seeking another ward in the city? I look forward to hearing from Mr Williams.
