OVER the years on my daily travels on my bike, I am frequently annoyed at other cyclists riding on the pavement. Often when I am correctly walking my bike on the pavement, I’m nearly run over by these selfish, law-flouting individuals.
Since 2007 it has been an offence to cycle on the pavement, aside from being dangerous, particularly down side streets where elderly people and children live.
It’s about time we had PCSOs monitoring this situation, handing out fines and in extreme cases removing bikes from persistent offenders.
I hope the police chief of North Yorkshire and the council take note.
