OVER the past week, my staff have found three valid passports during the early morning clean-up.

None of the passports have the emergency details section at the back filled in. If they had, I would be able to send them by recorded post to the people who had lost them.

All three passports had, judging by the dates of birth, been used as identification to gain access to pubs and clubs.

Could I ask that people spend five minutes of their time filling in the section at the back so in the event of loss, I can get them back to them and save them the £100 cost of acquiring a new one.

I am happy to hold onto these three passports for a month before I send them to the Passport Office to be destroyed.

If you have lost a passport recently, please phone me on 01904 552277 or email me at paul.willey@york.gov.uk
