HOW good to read about yet another teenager saving someone’s life.
This 14-year-old girl, Liz Cooper, was with her parents and younger sister in North Street, the family were on their way for a birthday meal for her dad (The Press, October 6).
They saw the woman climb over the barrier on the riverside ready to jump in. The young teenager went to the woman and very calmly talked her into sitting on a bench with her.
She kept her talking while her mum phoned the police.
She took charge and showed wisdom beyond her years. Her parents are rightly proud of her.
I think she should be nominated for the next Pride of Britain award. I wish her well in the future.
