I READ with great interest your recent comment regarding the “Think!” campaign which the county council have signed up to.
However, I do think that a more appropriate, understanding name would have been “Read the Road”, which explains itself.
I use many of North Yorkshire’s rural/countryside roads to undertake my work and indeed come across many drivers simply going too fast while driving on these narrow roads with tight corners, farm vehicles in the main.
If one reads the road and gets an immediate understanding of what may be round the tight bend, then I’m almost certain that many “unavoidable” collisions would be avoided.
Be safe and don’t forget to read the road.
Kevin Bailey, York.
