CONGRATULATIONS to Marion Burgess (The Press, September 30) on her community apple pressing.
She is keeping alive an old craft with which few of us are familiar, and giving us the chance to taste some of the mouth-watering results. As Dringhouses still has many of the old apple trees for which it was well known in the past, long may her endeavours continue.
Perhaps the local history enthusiasts might also be charting the location of these old trees and encourage the planting of new ones to eventually take their place?
