Stand your ground
A COUNCILLOR, like any other elected politician in this democracy, is a representative not a delegate and should act in accordance with what he/she believes to be in the best interests of the whole of their electorate.
Cllr Helen Douglas should stand her ground. Labour would not be calling for a by-election were the boot on the other foot.
