IN Monday’s paper there was a celebration and yet more drawings of York’s new community stadium with a cinema and new pool. What was wrong with the old pool?
The location of the Community Stadium is fine if you live to the east side of the city.
When rugby league games initially moved from Clarence Street to Huntington, the attendances reached 5,000 then dropped dramatically to what it is now.
It is also not a surprise that M&S, Next etc move to Monks Cross. There was room to build a really big unit with ample car parking, instead of being stifled by high rates.
The city council as a result is worse off and suffers from a lower set of quality shops.
