I WISH to thank to the lady who kindly helped my family with directions in York a few weeks ago.
We were visiting York for the first time on our summer holiday. Having just got off the Park&Ride bus in Tower Street, we stood grappling with a city map and a lovely woman stopped and asked us if we needed any help.
We told her we were trying to find the way to the Jorvik museum.
After helping us with that, she told us about many other interesting places to visit ā and ended up giving us a card for a free coffee or tea in Marks & Spencer.
Although I now live in Suffolk, I worked in Yorkshire about 30 years ago, and Iād forgotten how hospitable and truly friendly people are.
Anne Wise, Sudbury, Suffolk.
