Wasted play

First published in Letters by

I AM lucky enough to have a playing field opposite my house.

The week before the children broke up for the summer holidays, some men arrived and updated the slide area.

We were away the first week of the holidays, but on our return there was the new slide surrounded by fencing. It is now the last week of the summer holidays and said fencing is still surrounding the slide. Why? Could one of our councillors tell me the reason, please. The slide renewal was, it seems, at the wrong time since the children who would have used it are now returning to school. A whole six weeks of play wasted. Do we by any chance have any councillors with common sense? I am not alone in wondering.

What about actually asking a councillor direct? Why do people keep writing to The Press instead? Find out, and then let us know!

old_geezer - Because the people who write these letters do not vote for the party running the council, so therefore think they are sticking it to the council getting anti council letters published and of course the Press loves the council bashing, It'll be the same if the council are replaced in May, just different 'readers' writing letters.
