THE Scottish people have disappointed me in their independence debates.

Where are the nationalistic calls for their folk to show passion for their country, the desire to have independence no matter what the future may hold without guaranteed central funding or a definite future currency?

Standing alone will always bring problems, but the self-reliance would more than compensate for them.

Instead, the debate is all about whether the country and each resident would be better off either in or out.

The principle of independence has been forgotten in all the facts and figures being used as arguments . I still think, against all the current odds, that the “yes” vote will prevail, as they will put patriotism before self-interest.
