YOUR article of August 8 – “Cleaning cuts may worsen floods risk” – was very interesting and timely.
I read it having just walked from Spurriergate to High Petergate following heavy lunchtime rain. Most roads along the route were partially underwater and usually at the places where the (blocked) road gulleys are located.
Can councillors Alexander and Levene please explain what the priorities are in respect of York’s roads?
Is it to have them all properly maintained or is it to neglect the bulk of them in order to spend our taxes on such things as King’s Square and the route of the Grand Départ?
