EACH year the council contacts 2,000 tenants in a survey about their home and community. I would like to thank those who replied this year as your comments help with improvements to the housing services.
While Cllr Reid highlighted four areas where satisfaction had reduced – including rent levels – it was disingenuous not to mention the 12 areas of improvement or four constants.
Areas of improvement included opportunities to be involved in management and decision making; fair treatment for their landlord; and being kept informed about complaints. Services that remained constant were repairs and maintenance, the attitude of workers and keeping dirt and mess to a minimum.
Two concerns were dog fouling and car parking. Cllr Reid needs to be praising the housing services provided which are rated as good.
Cllr Tracey Simpson-Laing, Cabinet Member for Homes & Safer Communities, City of York Council.
