COUNCILLOR James Alexander’s letter (Some home truths, July 30) persuasively argues that young families in York are being priced out of their own city.
However, it is strange that this did not seem to bother him when he put up council tax year-on-year during the worst recession in living memory.
An act that directly impacted on the budgets of families young and old, singles, couples, the sick and the elderly.
Nick Emmerson, Dringhouses, York.
