THE TUC should hang its head in shame.

It would have only taken a few of their millions so that the workers buy-out at Kellingley Colliery would have prevailed (Colliery buy-out plans shelved, July 25).

The outcome is that 720 miners will lose their jobs when the pit closes.

Just what is the point of the TUC, apart from providing cushy jobs for those at the top, if they will not act to save the jobs of their members?
