MIDDLE of summer, you decide to have a bus or car trip to York, you arrive at your destination and park in St George’s.

Before you set of to explore the city you need the loos, guess what, they are closed for refurbishment, so you have to then start searching for others. It would have been better for who ever controls them to have had this work done early in the spring, ready for the summer season.

Maureen Robinson, Broadway, York.

Magicman! says...

True... but for that to have been done would mean you'd need a council that is competant. and to test that a council is competant you could try to see if they could organise a pi$$-up in a brewery - and I think this current lot failed that test. And speaking about lack of toilets, anybody else think it's poor planning to have demolished the Bootham Bar toilets whilst the art gallery opposite is closed AND the museum gardens no longer has any open public toilets? heaven help the tourists who find themselves caught short and don't know about using the loos in Mcdonalds!
