HERE they go again! I think it’s time that City of York Council started working with its citizens instead of against them.
The CCTV school van was brought in for a specific purpose – to allegedly protect children arriving and departing at school from irresponsible drivers parking dangerously.
The use of the vehicle for other reasons breaches the spirit of fairness.
Why are the council so short of money? Just look at all the new flats and houses that have gone up in York – in the middle of the biggest economic recession in my lifetime.
Go down Principal Rise where the old Technical College was – it’s like a small town. All these new extra properties are paying a fortune in council taxes, like the rest of us. Where is it all going?
The council knows in advance what its income and expenditure will be and should plan accordingly.
Perhaps the town hall executives should get a job in M&S or Tesco, where you have to get people through the door and offer a service in order to make “real” money.
Local and national politicians wonder why “we” the public are not engaging with them. Sadly the word “trust” comes to mind.
